Summer League Leaderboard
FAQ’s on the Summer Golf League:
Q: What’s the deal with the points?
A: The points are awarded every week based on rankings of players in both the gross and net division. First place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 5 points, 3rd place gets 4 points, 4th place gets 3 points, and 5th place gets 2 points. Everyone else is awarded 1 point for participating. If there’s a tie, the players will split the points awarded. For example, if Joe and Jon tie for first, they will split the first and second place points and each be awarded 7.5 points. This hopefully explains why there’s some decimals.
Q: Can I join the league midway through the season?
A: Absolutely! You are welcome to play your handicap rounds in order to be eligible to compete in the net division. If you don’t, you can still compete in the gross division. Once you have 3 scores in the regular tournaments, you will have established a handicap that can be used toward the net play.
Q: What do we win?
A: Each week, the winners of the gross and net divisions will win a $25 gift card. Again, if there’s a tie, the winners will split the earnings. At the end of the season, the 2 highest points earners will win an all access membership for one month. The top 8 points earners will win a place on a Ryder Cup team that will compete in late September. If you are interested in being a part of the Ryder Cup in September but don’t have enough points, not to worry, 8 players will earn a spot based on attendance (i.e. number of visits), and 8 players will be chosen as Captain’s Choice Picks.
Q: Does it cost any money?
A: No, the league does not cost any additional money. All you need to do is pay for your bay rental (or use your membership hours) to play your round.
